Energy Policy Hubris

The time spent reading and listening to both Presidential contending parties' conventions is reflected as another waste of time. It's not that I expected any differences from the past but; with the rapidly changing ecology along with it's twin, the economy; how do the followers that attended both conventions in Denver and Saint Paul remain so optimistic of their own futures while chanting “change”?

In my venture in attending higher education one speech communication course titled “Theory of Persuasion” is a course that will ever more be the course that will direct myself in any communication strategy.

I inferred that the choice of the words one uses in addressing others has a overwhelming influence on how the message is perceived.

Silicon Story

I listen to Minnesota Public Radio and often hear a snippet of a news bit that is presented by National Public Radio. More often than not many of those snippets are not covered at length. The snippet stated that a shortage of silicon (an important component in the manufacture of solar cells) is the primary cause to high cost of photovoltaic panels.

I witnessed the speeches presented by Lindsey Williams on You-Tube. Everything he states have been stated by many other researchers/writers as far back as the first energy crises of the nineteen seventies.

Going Green Nuclear Misnomer

How is utilizing nuclear power “Going Green”? Minnesota Representative Bruce Anderson (R) 19A and many others continue to reason that nuclear power is safe probably because nothing immediately life threating has happened yet.

Blowin' in the Wind

I completed my wind site which consists eight Kyocera 51 watt Photovoltaic panels, an energy shed and, a 1996 Whisper 1000 wind alternator.

The area wind data consisted of anemometer readings from the municipal airport across a lake from the wind site. The wind measurement is taken from a ten foot high vain. Not the best wind data but, all that is available.
